Rancho De Chiquita is the most beautiful and romantic setting for your wedding celebration; an elegant hacienda-style estate nestled high above the Malibu Mountains, overlooking a spectacular panoramic ocean view and 250 acres of Rolling Hills.

The quiet and privacy here are unconditional. As you enter the impressive gated estate, you will see by a Spanish fountain in a beautiful Courtyard paved with hand-hewn Canterra stone, partially shaded by a giant California Oak Tree, and graced with tiled planters brimming with cascades of bright foliage. Exuding rustic, yet elegant, old-world charm, the Courtyard is framed by a majestic Estancia-style Casa with earth-toned stucco walls and an authentic Mexican tile roof. Beyond the Courtyard, a striking blue antique Mexican wooden door leads to a private outdoor Sanctuary.

The grounds are spacious and multi-tiered, and as you stroll beyond the Courtyard, you are met with breathtaking views of the Malibu coastline; on the clearest of days you can see as far as the Channel Islands and Catalina. The Infinity Pool Terrace offers the highest vantage point for your festivities, where lantern lights and brilliant stars are mirrored in reflection on the water. Sweeping below is an expansive Lawn & Garden Terrace poised above the canyon; it takes no effort at all to imagine the tables, umbrellas and lights; your guests enjoying your celebration as the afternoon sun slowly sets and slips away in a blaze of color. Gently winding steps descend down the hillside from the Garden Terrace to the ceremony site, offering a unique and lovely new meaning to ‘Walking Down The Aisle’. At the bottom of the steps, a stunning Wedding Pergola embraces the view, nestled upon a manicured lawn in an intimate circle of dahlias, daylilies, roses and multicolored blooms.

The bridal party may use our Bridal Room with a separate make-up area, bathroom and a private Palapa to enjoy cocktails, rest, or take photographs. The groom and groomsmen typically relax in the Sanctuary prior to the ceremony. Rancho Chiquita is a private home and there is no access to the main residence and no showering facility.

We offer you an array of exceptional gourmet cuisine from Contemporary to International. No “wedding food” here! Estate owner, Geraldine Gilliland, is an award winning restaurateur, chef author. She has been featured in L.A. Times, Fine Cooking Magazine, and Bon Appetit named her “…one of the top six chefs in the United States”. Geraldine also owns two highly acclaimed restaurants in Santa Monica, Lula Cocina Mexicana and Finn McCool’s Irish Pub.

We are rarely limited regarding guest count, comfortably accommodating 250 guests at the ceremony sight and for seated service on the Garden Terrace; 150 guests for seated service at the Fountain Courtyard; 125 guests for seated service on the Infinity Pool Terrace; and we regularly host 400 guests for events serving cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres.

If you require additional wedding planning or assistance, we can provide you with a wide array of support to help you to create your wedding vision. Says Bride, Louise Grant: “There’s just no place like Rancho Chiquita!”.
